Current Positions

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

The position will require the HR Generalist to provide a unique and customized level of support to the clients they serve rather than one typically found in a corporate internal HR department. Accordingly, candidates will be required to travel on-site to client locations on a regular weekly basis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages various client projects in a variety of HR disciplines, on and off site as per the required timelines in collaboration with the team and as per HRPAR’s standards, policies and procedures. Ensures accuracy and quality of documents prior to forwarding to client.
  • Assists clients with questions relating to the interpretation and application of policies and procedures.
  • Assists clients with questions relating to employment related legislation; Employment Standards ActAccessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities ActOccupational Health & Safety Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
  • Assists clients in managing multiple employee relations matters including but not limited to accommodation requests, leave of absence requests, absenteeism issues, and managing employee disputes, enquiries and frustrations.

 

The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must possess the following:

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education specializing in Human Resources Management
  • Must have your CHRP Designation or confirmation that you are currently pursuing the designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience that includes progressive HR experience that included responsibilities in recruitment and employee relations.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience with the Employment Standards Act. Working knowledge and experience with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Accessibility with Ontarian’s Disabilities Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in handling multiple employee relations matters including but not limited to; accommodation requests, employee dispute resolution, interviewing for all level of positions, leave of absence requests etc.
  • Advanced computer skills; Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet applications, etc.

  • Excellent client service skills; an understanding that clients ultimately make the decisions for their own business!
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to build a strong rapport with clients. Well-developed listening and retention skills. Ability to adapt communication style to various client/management groups.

  • Strong conflict resolution, research and follow-up skills to ensure client enquires and/or issues are handled tactfully, effectively and promptly.

Travelling Requirement

  • Must have a valid Driver’s license and your own vehicle.
  • Must be able to travel to clients sites on a regular weekly basis. The current requirement will be to travel to the Vaughan area; however this will vary depending upon client needs.

HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR

Under the supervision of the HR Partner and/or HR Generalist, the HR Administrator will play an integral role in providing human resources support for our clients. The HR Administrator assists the HR Project team with a variety of tasks and responsibilities that will help to ensure our clients achieve their goals. While performing the tasks as an HR Administrator, you will be interacting with various employers, managers, and employees in a variety of industry sectors. As a result, you will be provided with opportunities to build your knowledge and skills set. This is a permanent full-time position. Key Responsibilities:

Client Interaction, Project Management and Team Communication

  • Assists the HR Partner and HR Generalist with providing advisory services for clients on a wide range of employee relations matters and questions related to the ESA, OHSA, AODA, WSIB and the Human Rights Code, and their application as it relates to policy and procedure development and interpretation.
  • Assists with taking a lead role with client projects and research tasks, and progressively works on more complex systems and documents by advising client on various projects in a wide range of areas including but not limited to employee relations issues, performance management and attendance, leaves of absences and return to work programs, separation, as well as orientation and on-boarding programs, job descriptions, employment agreements, turnover reports, job evaluation processes, training and development, etc.
  • Attends client meetings with HR Generalists and HR Partners and to assist in actioning on the items discussed in the meetings
  • Interacts directly with clients on all project work when required and/or as directed; ensures balance between proactive follow-up with clients and meeting deadlines.
  • Assists with social media posts, blogs, drafting articles for HR Newsletter and Website content when required.
  • Provides assistance to the HR Generalist in the client document auditing process, and directs the HR Assistants in maintaining the client secure site for uploading, updating, storing and maintaining documents.

Recruitment

  • Assists clients and/or HR Partner and Generalists with the development of the recruitment strategy.
  • Drafts and posts ads as per the project strategy.
  • Conducts active searches when required and prepares qualifying questionnaire as per the project strategy.
  • Conducts telephone pre-screens and identifies which candidate should be interviewed by the next project team member.
  • Conducts in-person/virtual interviews in collaboration with the HR project team. Drafts and reviews candidate interview summaries.
  • Reviews reference checks from the HR Assistants and HR Administrators to ensure HRPAR’s quality standards are achieved prior to forwarding to client.
  • Consults with the HR Partner and uses critical thinking skills to determine whether or not candidates are recommended to move forward in the process anticipate challenges and act proactively by developing the recruitment strategy.
  • Conducts exit interviews when required and reviews exit interview reports from HR Administrators and HR Assistants prior to forwarding to client.
  • Tailors exit interview questions based on the client needs. Provides constructive feedback to team members ensuring that the team member understands and applies the feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post-secondary college diploma or university degree specializing in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Specialization in Human Resources Management an asset.
  • Certification as a CHRP or CHRL an asset, working towards HRPA designation.
  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in a previous HR Administrator and/or HR Coordinator role, or other human resources related position.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet applications, etc.
  • Professional phone etiquette and excellent client service skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and solid interpersonal skills in order to build a strong rapport with clients and contacts.
  • Superior written communication skills with the ability to elevate words and phrases using enhanced language skills and HR vocabulary.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to take the lead on client projects, manage and direct work for the internal project team, plan and prioritize calendars, make decisions on work flow, coach and lead other team members by following up on projects and assisting other team members on meeting project timelines.
  • Ability to work as a team, showing strong collaboration, mutual respect and support, along with the ability to handle and apply constructive feedback on an on-going basis.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to skillfully conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and/or evaluate information.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time at a computer and to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Creative thinker with exceptional active listening skills.
  • Excellent research, administration and organizational skills.
  • Ability to focus attention on details, to prioritize and work on multiple client projects simultaneously.
