Accessibility & Accommodations

Under health and safety and workers’ compensation legislation in all provinces and territories, there is an obligation to have a work reintegration program in place and to provide workplace accommodations. These programs are designed to educate participants on accessibility compliance and return to work obligations.

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code, 1990 (OHRC)

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act sets out the duties and responsibilities of employers and the rights of their employees, customers, and anyone else who may come into contact with their workplace as it relates to disabilities. The purpose of this program is to educate you on the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code as it relates to persons with disabilities. The program will also educate you on how to interact with persons with disabilities in your workplace.

Work Reintegration (Employers)

Occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses have both direct and indirect costs for employers and employees. The purpose of this program is to educate you on the employer requirements as it relates to developing and implementing an effective return-to-work plan in order to help your injured or ill employee return to work in a safe and timely manner.
